Since childhood Henrik had a special interest in drawing. When in high school he bought his own ceramic kiln to develop his artistic skills further, and graduated as an Industrial Designer from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1975. Since then he is working as an independent industrial designer creating savings-boxes for banks, safety-products for industries, apparatus for hospitals, children products for IKEA, personal accessories and various other products.

In 1972 he married Yetty, who is sculptor and painter from Java in Indonesia – and since then, many of the travels have been to the exotic tropical islands Java, Bali, Lombok or Sumatra, for visits to the indonesian family, and more often to attend nieces and nephews spectacular traditional weddings. They live in a modern selfdesigned and selfbuilt low-energy wooden house north of Copenhagen, in a forest like garden surrounded by tall pinetrees. The house functions both as studio, workshop, atelier, gallery and livingplace. Henrik loves to watch the various birds that live and visit his garden – 35 kinds of birds throughout the year. Red Squirrels jump up an down the trees and also fox and deers come and visit to enjoy the roses. Indoor the sounds will be from New Age music, which is used to stimulate the creativity, and Yetty plays the classic piano. And twice a week Henrik starts the day with an early run in the nearby wood.

Vocational activities for the Team Leader are first of all to support and co-ordinate the individual team members programs for maximum benefit and insight. And then he looks forward to visit many Rotary Clubs in Hawaii to learn about their programs – and to spend time with fellow rotarians. Henrik has been member of Sorgenfri Rotary Klub, since 1990 and was the President of the club 2006/2007, a job which he fully enjoyed. Today he is the Counsellor of Sorgenfri Rotary Club – and also member of the planning committee for Camp D1470, which will take place 10.-24. August 2008 attended by 20 girls and boys age 21.- 25. years from more than 10 countries.

Vocational activities for the Team Leader are first of all to support and co-ordinate the individual programs, for the team members to get the full benefits from the trip. I will therefor follow team member (Stephan), with whom I share professional interests. If possible I would also like to meet other designers / achitects from AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Art) or ASID (Interior Designers). And I think Honolulu Design Center is a must for me.
